The deep cycle is the one to understand: unlike a starting battery, which is built to dump a big burst of cranking current and then be topped straight back up, a deep-cycle battery has thicker plates built to be drained down and recharged over and over, so it's what you want running fridges, lights, winches and other accessories in a caravan, camper or dual-battery setup.
